Jimmy Buffett Concert

Last night we went to the Jimmy Buffett concert at Verizon Music Center down in Indianapolis.  We had a great time!  Along the way, Brett made a couple friends.  As you can see, they all had a little something in common  :)

My parents, the Raymer's and Brett and I all took a limo down.  I picked up some Pizza Hut for the way down and the drive went really quick!  Limo parking was super close too....we did not have far to walk.

We had lawn seats, however, half way through Brett needed to use the restroom and it would be really difficult to wheel him back up to our seats in the lawn.  We decided to hangout in the area between the pavillion and the lawn, which worked out well.  After a few minutes, a lady from Verizon comes to us and says she has handicap accessible seats that would be great for us.  (I guess nobody purchased these tickets, so we lucked out!)  We ended up sitting in the first row of section 2!  Great view of the stage!

We had a great time with our Parrot Head friends and look forward to Buffett 2012!

Happy Birthday Hadley!

Happy Birthday to our niece Hadley.  It is hard to believe she is 3 years old!  For her birthday we got her a ballet leotard, ballet slippers and a Hello Kitty lipgloss.  As you can see, she was so excited about her new ballet gear, she tried it on and showed us some ballet moves. 

Cleaning Tips

A friend at work shared this link with me about the many uses of vinegar, who knew it was such a versatile substance!  While Brett does not particularly care for the smell, it is an economical cleaner and is environmentally friendly.

Here are a few of my favorites that I have recently tried.  (There are many more I will be using in the near future!)

1.  Mixing vinegar and water (equal parts) and putting in the microwave until boiling.  Then wipe away.  No more scrubbing the food splatter.
2.  Making the solution to clean trim and kitchen cupboards.  Look how shiney our cupboards look after a little cleaning with the vinegar solution.

Motocross Injury

Brett decided he wanted to get back into racing motocross in June.  Soon after his 30th birthday he bought a used bike....unfortunatly he learned the hard way that our bodies cannot handle what they could when we were in our late teens and early twenties.

His fourth or fifth time out on the bike, Brett had a hard landing and shattered his wrist and broke his foot. He did not crash, his injuries were simply from impact.

I just wanted to share a few comments regarding this situation:

1.  I don't know what people without health insurance do.
2.  Netflix (instant) has been a total life safer!
3.  We are thankful to have a ranch-style home.
4.  According to Brett, eggnog is the best laxative ever.

Brett's wrist post surgery.  Two metal plates and a number of screws.  I wonder if he will set off the metal detectors going through security?

This was Brett's doctors visit 10 days after his wrist surgery.  His wrist is healing great...however this is when we were informed that his foot would also need surgery. 

Awww.  Arn't they so cute?  So now, he is on the mend and before long we will be HAWAII bound!

This is something new....so please, bear with me!  A few months ago I canceled my Facebook account.  I guess you could say I was slightly addicted...which I'm sure I was not alone here!  Anyway, I decided to start a blog to keep everyone informed on what has been going on in our lives.
